process

Whether the project is for print or digital, the design process is not simply a brainstorming of creative ideas. Effective, appropriate and aesthetic design solutions comes out of a disciplined process that both the design/developer and client participate in. Our projects incorporate the following phases:
Research & Discovery
Defining the message for the project and developing criteria that includes budgets, completion deadlines, intended uses and audiences, as well as client needs and expectations. It is critical to the success of the project that the client share all their criteria during this phase. Major redesign after concepts are developed and presented causes delays and extra cost.
Concept Development
Creation of appropriate and aesthetic design solutions, based on the information gathered in project Research & Discovery Phase and that supports the project's message. This is the only phase that the client does not directly participate in.
Design Presentation & Refinement
Presentation of design concepts to the client - in the context of how they will be applied and produced...ie print or digital. Often there are refinements, based on client feedback, to finalize the design.
Production & Development
The final, approved design concept is produced in its final format, whether print, digital or a speciality process.
